You know because I have been in the duct cleaning business for over 25 years (I started when I was only 5 – that’s my story and I’m sticking to it), I just assume everyone knows about duct cleaning.

On a recent visit down to the land of warmth – Florida – I had to explain to several people what duct cleaning was.  It dawned on me that I can’t just assume everyone knows.

So here I will break it down for those who don’t know

What is duct cleaning?

Over the years dust and debris will settles in your ducts and furnace, air conditioning coil, furnace fan and motors. As dust builds up, your system slows down, air flow drops off, odors develop, and mechanical problems begin.

Duct cleaning is the process of cleaning the interior of your supply and return air ducts and registers, removing dirt, dust, debris, pet hairs, dander, drywall and saw dust or whatever else might collect down there. (I’m on a need to know basis!)

Clean air ducts will operate more efficiently, prevent many mechanical problems and extend the life of your heating and air conditioning systems. Not to mention what it will do for the cleanliness of your home or your families’ health.

This is the simple version.  There are still many questions on how to tell if you need duct cleaning, how often it should be done and how it should be done.  I will leave these for another day as I have to go work sometime today!
