Dryer Vent Cleaning
In order to minimize the chance of a fire occurring in your home due to your Dryer Vent, it is imperative to have it cleaned out annually. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, approximately 2,900 home Dryer Vent fires are reported annually1. The lint that gathers in the filter can get caught in the exhaust line itself and is incredibly flammable, to the point where Survivalists advise using it as tinder2. A clog can also cause issues with your Dryer by limiting airflow and movement of lint out of the equipment. Excess lint gathering within the Dryer itself or in the exhaust can lead to higher energy costs and part failure. You also may need to have it cleaned more often if you have a large family or pets. Multi-family dwellings or Commercial buildings also may need the exhaust cleaned more regularly.
Here are some signs that your Dryer Vent may need to be cleaned:
- Your Clothes are warmer then normal, or hot, when they come out of the Dryer
- Dry time is longer then normal
- Your Dryer is giving an error code
Installation
If you’re finding that your exhaust line is getting clogged very quickly due to the length, or that it’s just in poor repair, our HVAC Technicians can repair or install a new Dryer Vent line. We can also install booster fans into an exhaust line, which will help push lint out of a line that is very long or has many bends in it.
Give us a call today to find out more about our Installation and Repair Process.
